Build the systems
other teams rely on.
Nodeblue is a group of engineers building software, automation, and applied research across industrial, enterprise, and aerospace problems. We hire for depth, judgment, and ownership
Engineers, not layers
Small teams, direct ownership. The person who designs the system also ships it and supports it.
Real problems, real environments
Plant floors, autonomous platforms, enterprise data. Work that survives contact with production.
Depth over breadth
We back fewer bets harder. Pick a hard problem, go deep, see it through.
Calm intensity
Backgrounds in Tesla, Amazon, and Applied Materials taught us how to ship under pressure — and how not to burn out doing it.
Where we're hiring.
Software Engineer (Full-Stack)
Ship production applications end-to-end across TypeScript, Node, Postgres, and modern React/Next.js. Comfortable with schema design, API surface, observability, and CI/CD — and owning a system in front of paying customers.
Machine Learning Engineer
Build production agentic systems and ML pipelines on Claude and OpenAI models — tool use, retrieval (pgvector, hybrid search), eval harnesses, and prompt/context engineering. Python and TypeScript. Skeptical of demos, focused on what holds up in front of real users.
Data Engineer
Build the warehouse and the pipelines downstream teams depend on. Postgres, dbt, Airflow or Dagster, Snowflake or BigQuery, and Kafka/Kinesis for streaming. Strong opinions about data contracts and lineage.
Solutions Architect
Sit between customers and engineering. Scope projects, write SOWs, design integrations, and translate operational pain into a system. Technical enough to read the codebase, calm enough to run the customer call.
Technical Product Manager
Own the roadmap for our enterprise software and AI products. Work with customers to define requirements, prioritize against engineering capacity, and ship. PM background with a CS or engineering degree preferred.
Software Engineering Intern
Summer internship for CS, software engineering, or related students. Real production work — typically a feature or service shipped end-to-end with mentorship from a senior engineer. Stipend, return-offer track.
Controls Engineer
Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000) and Siemens (TIA Portal) PLC programming in ladder and structured text. HMI/SCADA on FactoryTalk, Ignition, or WinCC. EtherNet/IP and Profinet networks. Code that runs unattended for years.
Robotics Engineer
Integrate FANUC, ABB, and KUKA robots with Cognex or Keyence vision and custom end-effectors. Path planning, safety-rated stops, and commissioning lines that have to make rate on day one. ROS where it fits.
Commissioning Engineer
On-site debug, loop tuning, IO checkout, network troubleshooting, and operator training. Wireshark and a multimeter at hand. The person who owns whether the system actually runs before sign-off.
Automation Technician
Panel build, wiring, instrumentation, and commissioning support. Read schematics, troubleshoot 24V and 480V systems, swap drives without dropping the line. AS or trade-school background welcome.
Project Manager (Automation)
Run automation projects from kickoff to handoff. Customer point of contact, schedule, scope, change orders, and on-site coordination. Engineering or operations background — PMP not required, plant-floor experience is.
Controls Engineering Intern
For EE, ME, mechatronics, or controls students. Hands-on work on real PLC and HMI projects, panel testing, and on-site commissioning support. Paid, semester or summer.
Research Scientist
Applied research across finance and aerospace problems. Publish-quality rigor on real systems. PhD or equivalent industry experience in ML, statistics, controls, or a related field.
Quantitative Analyst
Quantitative modeling, backtesting, and risk analytics across real estate and broader market data. Python with pandas/polars, numpy, statsmodels. Strong math foundation and strong opinions about leakage. New grads with relevant projects welcome.
GNC Engineer
Guidance, navigation, and control for autonomous platforms. Kalman filters, MPC, IMU/GPS/vision sensor fusion, and MATLAB/Simulink to C++ pipelines. Demonstration-ready systems for defense applications. US person required.
Embedded Software Engineer
Firmware and real-time control on STM32 and Jetson-class hardware. C/C++, FreeRTOS, ROS 2, and custom motor/ESC interfaces. Onboard compute for experimental drone platforms — prototypes that fly into walls before they don't.
Research Intern
For graduate or strong undergraduate students in ML, controls, aerospace, or quantitative finance. Scoped research project with a published-quality writeup at the end. Paid.
